Inside SwellSpace: Rebecca Ghyzel, Account Executive
What really drew me to SwellSpace was the mission — helping HR teams not just communicate benefits more clearly, but actually show employees and candidates why it’s such a great place to work.
The fact that SwellSpace was founded by former Benefitfocus leaders really inspired me too. They’ve built products that have shaped the HR tech space, and I wanted to be part of and learn from a team that’s doing that again - but this time with a fresh, modern approach focused on simplicity and employee experience.
What’s your role at SwellSpace, and what does a typical day look like?
Rebecca: I’m an Account Executive at SwellSpace, where I lead strategy and go-to-market efforts for both employers and our channel partnerships. In short, I help companies and partners discover how SwellSpace can make HR and benefits communication simple, modern, and actually engaging.
No two days are exactly the same. One morning, I might be giving a demo to a university or hospital system, the next I’m meeting with a channel partner to explore collaboration opportunities. A big part of my role is helping people see how SwellSpace brings all those scattered HR and benefits details into one clear, branded experience that helps employees understand and appreciate everything their company offers.
It’s fast-paced, creative, and relationship-driven. That’s exactly what I love about it.
What’s something interesting you’re seeing in the HR, benefits, or software space right now?
Rebecca: I think one of the most interesting things happening right now is how HR teams are starting to think like marketers. For years, HR has focused on compliance and administration. Now there’s a major shift toward storytelling — helping employees actually understand, value, and connect with what their company offers.
On the software side, I’m seeing a lot of focus on AI and automation, which is exciting. But what really stands out is how it’s being used to make things simpler, not just smarter. That’s where I think SwellSpace fits in perfectly. We’re helping HR teams communicate in a way that feels intuitive and engaging, while also showing off why their company is a great place to work.
What’s your favorite part of working at SwellSpace?
Rebecca: My favorite part of working at SwellSpace is the challenge. I love figuring out how we can best fit into a company’s strategy and truly help their HR team. I take a consultative approach, learning what’s working and what’s not, and then showing how SwellSpace can make communication easier, clearer, and more engaging.
But equally, it’s the people. The team here motivates me, pushes me to think differently, and inspires me to get creative. Everyone brings such different experiences and perspectives. I’ve grown more, both personally and professionally, since joining SwellSpace than in any other role I’ve had.
Just for fun, what’s your favorite movie, and what do you love about it?
Rebecca: My favorite movie totally depends on the mood or the season - I love 10 Things I Hate About You and pretty much any good rom-com. But I also love fantasy or dystopian movies. Since it’s fall, I’m starting a Harry Potter marathon. Rebecca is one of many voices helping drive our mission: to make benefits clear, accessible, and meaningful for every employee and family. If you’d like to see how SwellSpace is transforming the way organizations communicate HR and benefits information, we’d love to show you.
